Sharing My 2022 Goals For Hayden Interiors and 4 Ways to Love Your Home Right Now

Tonight as I sit down to write, normally the design topics in my head come flooding in and the words just vomit onto the screen, but tonight I’ve been sort of stuck. Don’t get me wrong I could talk about design all day long, but it’s really important to me that I share part of who I am while I do it. And this one thing has been pressing on me, so I just need to say it.  As I sit here and reflect on all that has happened in the last 5 weeks since I launched my business, I would love to tell you that my launch was everything I dreamed it would be. I would love to tell you that I have clients lined up and waiting for me to help them. I would love to tell you that close people in my life have 100% supported me. But sometimes life does not go as we expect and that’s okay because I think it’s God’s way of pushing you more towards where he wants you to be!

The more I thought about who I am and what I wanted for this business, the more my goals started to shift. Having a series of disappointments actually led me to realize that I want to help people right now. I don’t want to wait months and months for a client to ask me to help them. Sure, if a client came up to me and asked me to help, I’d be thrilled to help, but in the meantime, I want to share my tips and creative juices along the way.

If you are new here, thank you for being here. It has been an interesting road getting to this exact place, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you haven’t read this post about how I got here, you can check it out here. For 2022, I plan on sharing lots and lots of ways that you can enjoy your house right now. Whether you are renting in an apartment, working on a fixer upper, planning a new build, or living in your forever home. I want to show you ways that you can be happy in your home right now. I’ll list 4 below.

1. Change Your Paint Color
   • Never underestimate the power of paint. It is in my opinion the #1 way a room can feel totally different. Feeling stuck but don’t know where to start? This is where I’d start. Do you have dark walls without much personality? How about a lighter, more fresh look. What color do I choose? This would be a great blog post! haha
2. Remove the Clutter
   • Sometimes your space just doesn’t seem right because you can’t see what is right about it beyond all the stuff.  So removing all the excess might be a great way to see what you are working with. Remove the books off the shelves, and start with a clean slate. Sometimes that’s all you need to find new inspiration and freshen things up again.
3.  Add Light 
   • More than we realize, light plays a big role in our overall mood. Nobody likes coming home to a dark home. Investing in a lamp or changing out light fixtures are a great way to make the space more inviting.
4. Change Your Art
   • This one may be the most fun thing for me to play around with. Art brings in your individual personality and can be the number one thing that makes your home feel more like you. I love doing a gallery wall to bring in a collection of all my favorite items. Plus, It’s one of the cheapest and easiest ways to freshen up a space! Etsy has lots of great options for downloadable art.

Whether you are just starting out in your home or looking for a refresh, I hope you never forget that there is inspiration and beauty all around you. Sometimes that’s even moving a vase that was in the bathroom into the living room just so it feels “new” again.
