As Mia gets older, I’ve been thinking about what I want to do for her future big girl room. I’ve been inspired by so many things lately so I wanted to get it down on paper. When I designed her nursery, I had every intention of this growing into a big girl room and while it still can, I’m wanting to add a little more pattern and color. I kept her nursery extremely neutral and that has been really fun for us, but now I’m itching for a change. I am sort of embarrassed to say this, but she has never used the crib we bought her and probably never will.
For those of you who don’t know, she is still sleeping in a pack n play in our closet. The timing never felt right to move her upstairs because she was never sleeping through the night. Now that she is sleeping through the night, I was planning on waiting to transition her upstairs into her room at the same time she transitions to a big girl bed. Since changes are so hard for her, I figured this would be the easiest way to do that. Anyway here is a mood board I created. I wanted to add a gallery wall to keep it fun and light.
I’m in love with the wall sconce. It adds a touch of whimsical! I love the neutral scalloped bed. So cute and feminine. I think if you aren’t feeling really “girly girl vibes” adding green into your decor is a great way to balance out all the pink. I’m sure this will end up no where near this, but it’s a fun start.
